Casual Play Assistant

Salary: NJC Grade A, £12.26 per hour 

Working Pattern: This is a casual position with variable hours available

Job Purpose: The main purpose of the job is to assist in providing a caring and secure environment for children through individual and group activities.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To provide safe and creative play opportunities
  • To ensure all toys used are in good condition and remove any that are broken or need to be repaired
  • To set up and pack away equipment after each session
  • Attend regular staff meetings
  • Ensure equipment boxes are kept tidy and stocked up at all times
  • Contribute towards the personal care of all children
  • Work as part of a team including contributing to activity planning, team discussions and children’s development
  • Liaise with Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) as appropriate
  • Some lifting of children and resources will be required
